Today 2 of my classes got to speak with an Amazon employee to learn about how their fields are used in the real world. The programming class spoke with a solutions architect for Amazon Web Services and the robotics class met with a senior research scientist with Amazon Robotics.
Excited today to be able to announce I received a Google Data Centers Community Grant. Laptops for my classroom will help ensure my students get to use the same software as the pros. (Nothing wrong with Chromebooks, but sometimes you need a bit more power)
After a couple weeks of exploring AWS and careers, it's time for the Into Programming kids to finally get into Python. I love watching what they come up with as they learn to code.
The first days of introductions and expectations are done today we got busy. Programmers wrote their first program, we defined what software was in the software class. Repair students determined what makes a computer a computer, and CS Principles built communication devices.
