Accel Focused Sprint Session
Looks a little like this:
1. Drill Work (isolated & integrated)
2. Sprint fast
3. Pull something
4. Plyo's/Jumps
5. Medball Throws (not shown)
Force production is great, but it means little if not applied in the right direction & time.
Having done it as an athlete, it is a great tool to use.
Priming the nervous system to fine tune the system before a game is underutilized.
Resources/space/sport coach buy can certainly be a couple factors that limit its use.
This also wont help winning or losing, fyi.
Hit a couple sprint PRs this week on my 10m, and 15m.
All I did was reinforce accel shapes, pulled a heavy sled fast, sprinted fast and took full rest.
That's it.
Of course the devil is in the details as they say, but the point of attack is simple - get faster.
Getting into combat sport S&C, a couple things that standout is they love SDE development and glycolytic work. While those are important at different times, the importance of aerobic/anaerobic work and general strength work can go a long way.
