It would have been set 7000 years before ATLA, during a volcanic ice age. A completely blank canvas for new Avatar stories.

To be absolutely clear, I'm a huge fan of Rey💜
She's kind, strong, brave, empathetic, determined, merciful, dedicated, resourceful, clever, & inventive.
Her naïve trust in the alleged Will of the Force is a point of contention for my temple vs her academy, but she's a true Jedi.

With that slight annoyance aside, the choreography in this series is brilliant, in both spectacle & storytelling.
I am beyond excited to see more duels featuring the characters yet to appear & how that may further inform our understanding of the Forms as reimagined for Canon

#MaulShadowLord (episodes 1-4) is excellent so far.
I'll be analyzing the choreography from all duels soon, I just want to note a few things now.

What was once a stupid retcon to excuse poor choreography has become a frightening reality for those who hold that opinion
