@yukonging cis people need listen to trans people instead of doing their own theorizing about transphobia, because they always end up with this or the even worse "hatred of trans women is based in hatred of masculinity" take.
If you think yuri spaces have a problem with bi and polyphobia than just say that. Don't throw around a term like TERF if you're not actually talking about transphobia and specifically hatred of trans woman. You're diluting the meaning of terms we need to talk about transphobia.
@lovelykianaa They all have genuine chemistry as friends/allies but fandom doesn't really do well with valuing friendship. I don't have a problem with the polyship atm, but I think there's a good chance there will be people trying to force it onto people who only like the yuri ship sadly.
Yeah, it’s understandable people want to push back on that kind of rhetoric but at the same time, it’s noticeable that all the so-called ‘real feminists’ in fandom go missing when a lesbian gets dogpiled and called an incel for not caring about the current popular male character.
I think a lot of “feminists” who critique fandom behavior in gacha spaces hone in on the occasional “dick lovers” vitriol under the guise of protecting real women while calculatedly ignoring the intersection of misogyny and lesbophobia that women who don’t care about men face
@yukonging I don't even disagree that it's rude to call someone's sexuality fake based on fandom, but the fact that people will only defend lesbians who will talk about men is so telling. Lesbians who like your fav yaoi are comrades, but lesbians who only care about women are the baddies.
@cogito_yuri you must admit that it is very funny to watch people who take fandom so seriously they'll make being pro/anti part of their identity turn around and insist that you can't critique fandom because it's all just fun and games.
@yukonging the way people carry on about the occasional MC ship tease we get in these games really makes you wonder if they've just never played any other games. because like, the amount of MC "glazing" in hoyo games isn't actually that different to say a Persona or a Fire Emblem.
@yukonging people will work themselves up talking about how every female character who's ever been in same frame as the trailblazer is nothing but waifubait, and then their favourite character will be dan h*ng. like, okay, seems like you can enjoy or ignore MC pandering when it's a man.
@yukonging The idea mihoyo games are poorly written except when it's time to lock in for the regional yaoi at which point the writing turns into art would be a really funny opinion if it wasn't so widespread.
