A lot of people say things like “oh I’ll try that when I’m confident”…they think confidence comes before trying. Confidence is the reward you get for effort…it comes after trying. And because we tried we are rewarded with a little more confidence.
Today at 6 pm the Fighting Bees take on #23 Graceland Univeristy. Come on out and pack the gym. We will be doing a shirt giveaway as well as selling shirts at the door. We look forward to seeing everyone there. #gobees
Be kind to your neighbor today…
We are all Americans and children of God.
We all face unique issues that impact how we vote.
We all lived through much chaos since 2020.
Hating your neighbor for voting one way or another is not okay.
Labeling your neighbor for voting one way or another is not okay.
Referencing your neighbor’s kids or role as a parent in an attempt to demonize them/their vote is not okay.
If a political election makes you change how you treat people, you are the problem.
When my neighbor needs a jump start, I don’t think about who they voted for.
When someone is begging for change, I don’t ask who they voted for.
Being a good person isn’t determined by who you voted for and the second you start treating people differently and putting them in a vacuum over an election, you’ve already lost.
Perceptions and beliefs are formed throughout a lifetime- respect your neighbors freedom to perceive.
A divided nation is a weak nation.
Just my 2 cents, love my neighbors. 🙏🏼
As wrestling tournaments begin to fill your weekends….
A reminder for us all.
Most days the only thing your kids need to hear after a competition is I’m proud of you, I believe in you, stay the course, trust the process.
They have a coach for a reason. If that coach has developed a good relationship with them and not a transactional/result based one then they will accept their criticism better over yours any day. Be their safe space to land versus their ride home to dread.
Maybe you’re their coach and their parent? If they know your love and reaction to their performance isn’t based on a result that relationship can be healthy and become meaningful time you spend together. If that relationship is based in fear of displeasing you then you will become a conversation to avoid and anxiety for the child to manage. Will there be rocky moments? For sure. Have we had our own rocky moments? Yes. Does it open up the opportunity for deeper conversations and the practice of apologizing and forgiveness- absolutely.
So again I say: ᴍᴏꜱᴛ ᴅᴀʏꜱ ᴛʜᴇ ᴏɴʟʏ ᴛʜɪɴɢ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴋɪᴅꜱ ɴᴇᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ʜᴇᴀʀ ᴀꜰᴛᴇʀ ᴀ ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴇᴛɪᴛɪᴏɴ ɪꜱ ɪ’ᴍ ᴘʀᴏᴜᴅ ᴏꜰ ʏᴏᴜ, ɪ ʙᴇʟɪᴇᴠᴇ ɪɴ ʏᴏᴜ, ꜱᴛᴀʏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴏᴜʀꜱᴇ, ᴛʀᴜꜱᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʀᴏᴄᴇꜱꜱ.
By most days, I mean every time they didn’t achieve what they set out for, which is going to mean you’re gonna say it a lot. It’s not too late to start practicing now.
Don’t miss your chance to catch your first look at the 24-25 Fighing Bees Wrestling team, tomorrow at 11:45 before the home football game. We look forward to seeing you there. #gobees
