@BenVerlander Geographically speaking, Charlotte and Nashville are north of Atlanta. While those rivalries with Atlanta doesn’t work, I think u switch ATL w/ 1 of the exp team
The Braves had a tough season. But not everything was terrible. So here’s a list of things that I enjoyed this season.
-Chris Sale Triple Crown and eventually, his first CY.
-The rise of Spencer Schwellenbach. He posted a 2.54 ERA and 3.04 FIP in 92 IP from 7/6 on.
-Reynaldo Lopez becoming the most unexpected ace in baseball.
-The Raisel Iglesias run. I’ve never seen pure dominance like that in real time. Even in the Kimbrel years there was never a run quite like this.
-Marcell Ozuna’s season as a whole.
-Matt Olson’s 2nd half.
-Michael Harris’ late surge and postseason performance.
-The Rejects. Ramon Laureano was so huge for this team. Gio Urshela filled in admirably for a franchise cornerstone. Whit Merrifield brought an edge and performed well in Ozzie’s absence.
-Daysbel Hernandez proving he can be a key part of this rotation for years to come.
-Charlie Morton reaching 2000 K. That’s a legit accomplishment that speaks to the longevity and durability of Charlie’s career.
- Jorge Soler’s return to Atlanta.
There were more moments that were fun but this is simply a list of things that come to mind when I think about the 2024 Braves.
