Last night I asked what the Labour Council are doing to help tenants in the private rental sector to defend their legal rights when they're breached.

The Renters Reform Bill/Act is currently silent on any measures to regulate the significant growing threat in the PRS: Rent-2-Rent. I wonder if the new definition of "Residential Landlord"(s.23) will pave the way to hold owners responsible for any criminality they profit from?
@PeteApps It surprises me that Rent Repayment Orders haven't been extended. It would incentivise tenants to carry some of the enforcement burden, and reduce the workload on local authorities and the geographical disparity in enforcement.

@nearlylegal@JHASTARKBAR It is understandable that the UKSC would feel restricted by the legislation. It's a sad irony that Rent Repayment Orders were brought in to prevent criminal business models from flourishing, as it has created a blueprint to support the exact business models it is meant to stop.
