No registration requirement for firearms in general.

South Carolina allows open carry and concealed carry without a permit for persons 18 years and older who are not otherwise prohibited from possessing a firearm.

There is no duty to inform a law enforcement officer that one is carrying a firearm.

Firearms may be carried anywhere in a vehicle, openly or concealed, loaded or unloaded.

South Carolina had 1,019 firearm deaths in the most recent age-adjusted data.
