My takeaway from Mamdani’s press conference today: traditional media seems upset that they no longer have a monopoly over information about his administration. Someone even questioned whether it’s ethical for him to speak with influencers because they might take money for ads which is ironic considering these networks do the same thing. He repeatedly said he’ll speak to whoever he needs to reach people and has never paid anyone for content. They don’t seem to grasp the fact that people genuinely like him for free.
