overall had such a great experience with this class. I definitely have a different perspective of technology and know that I need to be more mindful of how often I use it or what use it for
recently heard that many covid babies are unable to smile as they are not exposed to people's faces because of masks. On top of this, they will be growing up in a society highly dependent on tech. Makes me wonder what other emotional disconnections they may face in the future?
it also makes me wonder whether or not children will be able to understand emotions through communication when they are older. This is because emotions are often misread or not expressed through messaging and can have a serious effect on their everyday adult life 1/2
I think that as children today have experienced a lot more technology than previous generations, their ways of communicating will be very different. Dialogue through messaging is very different than in person 1/2
how did you guys find the first semester back in school? I had some classes that were still through zoom but was happy to be back in person for the other ones
would you say that as you got older, you do not post as much on your social media? personally when I was a teen I was always sharing posts on my story and uploading photos but now in my early twenties I use it mainly for entertainment and to communicate with friends
@erica_mcinto there is the limit of respecting another person's privacy but also when you take a video there may be strangers passing in the background. So it would be difficult to say whether it should be allowed or not
@yayalinsu people can definitely get lost with what is acceptable to be said online and what is not. just because you are behind a screen does not mean the message you share won't have negative effects!
@GraceMakinson14 I would say ice boy and fire girl! we had smart boards in my elementary school so any lunch we got to stay in was spent playing that game while the rest of the class watched as entertainment
does anyone have something super high tech in their house? I used to think clapping your hands to turn off the lights was cool and now have Alexa setting timers for me when cooking
