The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs (MoJCA) @norbertmao has just officiated at the High-level meeting to validate the Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) to the National Civic Education Policy. He has emphasized the need to inculcate civic education into the citizens of #Uganda.

Also present was the PS. MoJCA and other stakeholders from the Office of the President, Security Agencies like @PoliceUg , ministries of; @Mglsd_UG , @Educ_SportsUg @mofpedU , @MoICT_Ug @UgandaEC & CSOs like @UMWAandMamaFM @wougnet. Member of the Commission Hon. @lo_apitta made Welcome remarks on behalf of @ChairpersonUhrc and the director @BKamadi made the introductory remark.

The meeting was organized by our Directorate of Research, Education and Documentation at Nican Resort Hotel - Lweza - Wakiso District.

We, together with the @SectorUganda , have held a Joint Press Conference to flag off commemoration activities for the World Press Freedom Day (WPFD). Hon @ckaheru represented @ChairpersonUhrc Hon. Mariam Wangadya and the Coordinator Dr. George William Lugalambi represented the Sector. The WPFD will be commemorated on May 3, 2024 under the theme: A Press for the Planet: Journalism in the face of the Environmental Crisis." Today our Human Rights Tribunal started hearing a complaint from @NUP_Ug leader Hon. @HEBobiwine. The panel is being chaired by Hon. @ChairpersonUhrc. Other Commissioners are; Hon. @lo_apitta @shifrahl @SimeoNsubuga. The case has been adjourned upon request from his lawyers.
