BREAKING 🚨: Russia has threatened British military sites across the world after British missiles were used by Ukraine that they will be attacked by them
On his second day in office, Andy "Pandy" Burnham announced the removal of VAT on domestic electricity bills to zero, saving families £45 a year and giving us "breathing space".
Hooray.
Now Ofgem announces a 4% increase in the energy cap from October.
This is an average increase of £105.
So, we are paying about £60 more.
Thanks Pandy.
Now today, he talks about getting energy prices down "in the long term".
Nice shift. An unelected PM with no mandate. Even when he creates his own mandate, he shifts the goals as soon as events move against him.
Andy Burnham has spent weeks talking about cheaper bus fares as if they’re going to transform people’s finances.
The reality? Millions of people rarely or never use the bus. They won’t see a penny of benefit.
Meanwhile, today’s 4% rise in the energy price cap hits every household across the country.
Cheaper bus fares won’t compensate for higher energy bills, higher taxes and an economy struggling to grow.
Labour keeps offering small giveaways while the bigger pressures keep getting worse.
Britain is being pushed closer and closer to the brink.
No 10 North was sold by "Pandy" Burnham as a cost-free way to rebalance Britain.
Yet the Government is now refusing to disclose the costs of moving staff, transporting the Prime Minister between London and Manchester, or any additional policing and security provision.
The Cabinet Office accepts there is a public interest in transparency over public spending - but says the figures can't be released.
Apparently taxpayers are mature enough to fund the project, but not quite mature enough to see the receipt.
How are we not to conclude then that this is nothing more than a costly vanity project?
Net Zero carnage on bills:

Be scared when it's hot!
Be scared when it's cold!
Be scared when it's dry!
Be scared when it's wet!
There is only one consistent message of the climate con.
Because scared people do as they're told.
Labour .
First they tried to freeze pensioners to death.
Then they tried to pass a euthanasia bill.
Now they want to tax them to death.
All to protect the Unwashed Lazy benefits Scroungers.

Labour have engineered the biggest political coup in modern UK history.
Labour brought in a new leader from outside the PLP, and timed the coup to coincide with the 6-week summer recess, so And¥ Burnham hasn't had to set foot yet in the House of Commons as Prime Minister, and will only have to endure 2 PMQs when Parliament returns on September 1st before the conference recess starts on the 15th.
The timing has allowed Burnham and his hand-picked staff and team of ministers to run riot, upending centuries of tradition and history and radically changing how the country is run without oversight.
In his first week as PM, Burnham created a 2nd de facto capital city when opening Number 10 North in Manchester, a few minutes down the road from his family home.
Without any, consultation, debate, or scrutiny, Burnham committed the UK to £Billions of extra government spending and changed where and how the Prime Minister, the Cabinet, Ministers of the Crown, and hundreds of civil servants work.
Last week Burnham and his henchmen set in motion changes that will radically affect how the regions operate, with a group of 14 super mayors, 10 of whom represent the Labour Party, given powers to overrule local mayors in such matters as planning permission for new housing estates, and funding for major regeneration projects.
The Mayors have already been called to meetings and briefings at Number 10 North. The creation of super mayors cooperating and reporting to the PM is nothing less than a naked power grab by Labour.
Burnham and his Cabinet Sectary, Antonia Romeo, have ended the pretense of the Civil Service being impartial.
Among the devolution program for the regions are schemes to send teams of civil servants around the country to advise and work with the mayors. The plan for these civile servants is for them to gain experience in local government which will equip them to become "future leaders".
The coup has been planned for over a year, and the plotters couldn't be happier with the way it is going.
All hail Admiral General Prime Minister And¥.
The UK is over £3 Trillion in debt.
That's £3,004,000,000,000!!
Rachel Reeves increased the debt by £500,000,000,000 in two years.
Andy Burnham keeps announcing more spending plans.
Totally irresponsible 'leadership'.
This Labour Government are leading us to disaster
SAME OLD LABOUR SAME OLD PROBLEMS
Labour's decision to subject pension funds to the death tax from April next year will constitute a triple whammy tax threat.
Firstly, adding pension funds and death benefits to the value of a person’s estate for inheritance tax purposes will bring many more estates into the ambit of the death tax.
Secondly it means that almost half of all taxable estates will lose some or all of their residence nil-rate band allowance within five years as they pass the £2m threshold.
Thirdly, after the pensions have been taxed at 40% they will still be subject to income tax when withdrawn by the beneficiaries. It could amount to a total tax rate of 64% on the inherited pension.
“Dragging unused pensions into the inheritance tax net from April 2027 could drastically reduce the amount of money some beneficiaries inherit. This feels intrinsically unfair — pensions should be treated, and therefore taxed, as capital or income, not both,” said Rachel Vahey from the investment firm AJ Bell
Burnham has no mandate for tax rises. The UK didn’t vote for a Burnham-led party. The UK didn’t even vote for a party where Burnham was an MP.
And he’s now imposing his own personal manifesto. https://t.co/rzlzsxjoJN
This week alone:
Higher UK borrowing
Higher energy prices
Higher international aid spending
Higher taxes suggested
Higher Ukraine spending
Higher graduate unemployment
Higher petrol prices
@UKLabour helping our cost of living apparently 😡
I totally disagree with Reform on this issue.
It’s clear that sending endless sums of money to the most corrupt western country is not a good idea. £200bn has gone missing. Lot ofpeople have been lining their pockets.
I am 100% behind President Trump’s efforts to end the war.
