I have to say a fair amount stated in this is true from my perspective. This is my lived experience. I’ve said many times that the governance structure of the CF is flawed. I was on the council at one point, tried to improve things and attempted to replace the board with people who truly care about Cardano.

Apparently cf board elections are coming up in April so we should keep an eye out for that.

Me and Charles were pushing for a board member from Africa, NorthAmerica Mongolia, LATAM, Asia. I had detailed early on what types of skills those people should have to represent the business model for the foundation. Keep in mind, people should be carefully selected based on a clear set of criteria that aligns to the strategy and business model of the entity.

It is true that Intersect was supposed to be CF. So anyone at the cf not supporting building Intersect correctly should examine this. And although intersect has flaws we definitely need to pull together to make it function optimally. Absolutely no one wants it to be a captured entity.

The Exec Director role of intersect is a difficult one to solve and best practices should be followed on governance inside Intersect to solve it - I know they’ve been discussing this. With the likes of Adam now on the board I’m even more optimistic and Steve Lupien has also done an exemplary job from what i’ve seen and is here to serve our community.

And to that end, it’s time we really are open and transparent about the roles and responsibilities of each entity - founding or not - and start to carefully craft the ecosystem governance of our Cardano ecosystem of value exchange.

To my knowledge, a team within intersect will continue to bring forward clarity via the ecosystem working group and produce a scalable and opt-in ecosystem map so we can all see what’s going on in real time. That project will be a challenge but we should keep an eye out for that work. It’ll help with overall ecosystem wayfinding if nothing else.

Anyway, in my humble opinion, we have to be better than the people who ran the systems before us and we have to rebuild with different people who have a more ‘aware’ and evolved mindset. A healthy conscience. So I’m not here to bash the cf, but it is time to be honest and propose clear solutions.

Even the debate about whether the cf should register as a drep and use their voting power in certain ways, is a healthy debate that fund 13 has really brought to light. As one person said, even if it’s decided by popular vote r social pressure that entities like cf shouldn’t use their ada to vote then it begs the question how or who will launch a marketing and ecosystem campaign (including education) to incentives other #ada holders to deploy their ada and participate in governance.

It requires a campaign to do that and to think through the different user experiences.

Anyways, I can promise you this - with the board seat IO has on Intersect or on any governing body, I know myself and Charles will continue to play our part to continue to make balanced and fair decisions. Of course even IO is a private company with our own commercial interests and we will act in our own self interest as well, but we are and have always been open about what we are doing and why and in every way have tried to put the health of the community first.

I will conclude by saying that the CF does have wonderful people working for them and some good initiatives, and I have no doubt it will get better. Like anything it’s never the people doing the hard work that cause discord, they’re always caught in the crosshairs of others making often times shortsighted decisions.

So we should focus on how we can collectively help each institution operating within the #Cardano ecosystem do better and be clear about their roles including how they both extract and create value within the ecosystem.
