Medical doctor Dennis Lipinge Noa appeared in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court this afternoon for the continuation of his bail application in connection with an alleged sexual assault.

The alleged incident is said to have occurred at Noa’s residence at Onandjokwe Hospital in July.

Testifying before Magistrate Shantell-Antoinette Wanga-Harris, 31-year-old Noa said they had been seeing each other for about two months.

He further testified that the complainant was attempting to extort money from him to invest in a taxi business.

In his plea for bail, Noa said he was not guilty and wanted to return to work to protect his career. He told the court he would abide by any bail conditions.

He said he could only afford 5000 bail with the help of family, as he had not yet been paid and was uncertain of his employment status.

The matter was postponed to 9 October for continuation of the bail application.

He is remanded in custody at Omuthiya Police Holding cells.

Police investigations in the matter continues.
