The violence in Ol Kalou is a direct and unacceptable attempt to manipulate and rig democratic processes. Elections are the cornerstone of our republic, and they must always be conducted in an open, peaceful, and fully transparent manner.

Furthermore, the targeted confiscation of media equipment is a grave constitutional violation. Free press is not a privilege, it is a fundamental right and an indispensable to the conduct of free, fair, and credible elections.

President Ruto and his administration must respect the Constitution and immediately cease any actions that interfere with the sovereign power and democratic authority of the Kenyan people.
