@lexhoogduin Is niet bepaald links - Trump gaat druk op Europa uitoefenen - niets dwingt mensen meer tot samenwerking dan een gezamenlijke externe vijand. De samenwerking komt er dus uit noodzaak. Het beleid dat hier uit voortkomt zal pro-Europees rechts zijn eerder dan links.

@AllieRenison The narrative in the US is all about China. Trump is of the view the Europeans should sort out Russia without US help whilst they need all hands on deck for the threat from the east.
Selective tariffs might apply but neither UK nor EU are preferred first targets.

Their version of NI, Catalonia was decanted onto a fellow coalition party absolving him. His power is now based on both left and right and therefore solid even if he cant pass laws.

For any of your considerations to come into play there should be UK consensus that self-interest is served from within the EU not outside. Although Brexit reality is making this point every day, there is no recognition of it.

@DustinGHamilton @moseskagan The US number is exaggerated but indeed higher than UK. The real US 5%+ bracket is 335K - if you take into account the difference in healthcare it would be even less. Nevertheless the differential remains high.
