Kabul Surgical Centre Report Rejects Taliban’s High Casualty Claims

A statement from the Surgical Centre in Kabul has challenged the casualty figures reported following recent airstrikes in the capital.

According to hospital officials, 27 individuals were received for treatment, of whom 3 were declared dead on arrival, while 2 remain in critical condition. The majority of the injured were adults.

The medical facility further clarified that the strike occurred near an addiction treatment centre, and did not directly hit the facility itself. Patients were brought in from surrounding areas affected by the blast.

Hospital authorities confirmed that a mass casualty protocol was activated, but emphasized that the number of casualties treated does not correspond to the high figures being circulated.

Earlier, Taliban authorities had claimed that over 400 civilians were killed. However, hospital intake data and on-ground medical reports do not support these claims.
