13: Got cut from the Middle School cheerleading squad.
Age 17: Won a National Championship at Stanford. Assumed that was just how it worked.
Age 21: Left as the Pac-10's all-time leading scorer. Moved to Italy to play alone.
Age 27: Made the WNBA. Detroit Shock. Thought I'd finally arrived.
Age 28: I was refusing to even check into a WNBA game. I was depressed.
Age 48: Started posting on TikTok with no idea what I was doing.
Age 53: Finished my Master's in Sport and Performance Psychology so that o can help female athletes master the mental game.
Life isn’t linear, but God always has a plan. Sometimes you just don’t see it until years later.
