The cool thing about being human is understanding your own nervous system, and how to handle hard situations, and how to determine what is an actual threat, and what is not.
There’s a lot of adults that don’t know how to do this, and many of them are on Twitter.
idk man… over 130 people died last july due to flooding. there’s a whole wikipedia page about the central texas floods.
i would take 500 warnings in a short time period before ever wanting anyone to experience what those experienced last year.
@msbluewhiplash@mspaigers When they don't actually repair the infrastructure or put actual warning sirens in certain areas, yes, yes we can and should.
Plant the herbs in between the vegetables for pest control and support because they are wonderful companions. I also highly recommend always expanding garden beds. 😅
I wonder if it's all the construction and they've messed up the highway by lowering it too much.
Here in Austin, we are constantly navigating low water with all the new construction. I watched a car exit the highway and barely make it out out of a puddle of water yesterday.
This is 4 miles from my house. I drive on this every single day and if it were not for the kubota dealer and the overpass to 6, I literally would not recognize this picture. I don’t even know how it flooded like that.
That’s legitimately CRAZY.
@greengirlbella_ Who wants to go inside when they're sick or drag sick kids in? It's great. I don't want to stand next to other sneezing, coughing people either.
texas is awesome because for at least 2 months out of the year you’re like “yeah i cant let any sunlight in my house at all or it becomes an oven” like its normal
