In my time as an early stage deep tech investor, I've primarily come across three general archetypes of deep tech companies.

Each of these has unique strengths and challenges when it comes to raising money and building a venture scale business

While each of these archetypes alone is a little extreme, in reality, most companies will be some combination of the above, and the best companies I've come across possess the strengths of all three.
