@PaulSpacey@IHateSoccerPod Not at all. I’m just saying, for example, Zavier Gozo played for La Roca an ECNL club, but then gets scooped up by RSL. So RSL gets credit for “developing” a European prospect. National team players could come from anywhere, just typically at some point they taken by an academy
@PaulSpacey@IHateSoccerPod Maybe not for clubs and teams but players aren’t trapped anywhere. We need more academies per capita for sure. But very few if any ECNL teams have the quality of a MLS academy. Expecting those teams to produce national team players is unrealistic.
@HoboJ_@TuskedUp It’s not about settling. You can’t “build” a championship team or everyone would do it. You have to hope to get a stroke of luck along the way and land a Jokic, Giannis, Shai, etc.
@TuskedUp@HoboJ_ Was mostly replying to the doom and gloom of the other account. Sorry for the stray. I get the Jazz might have a high floor and low ceiling. But I just get tired of the title or bust mentality. This Mammoth season was awesome. So many incredible moments.
@HoboJ_@TuskedUp Why didn’t the Jazz just trade for Shai or Wemby?? Guh, they should be smarter than that.
Seriously, on a given year 26 teams have to find a way to play exciting competitive basketball with less than a few percentage chance to win the finals. Calm down.
@HoboJ_@TuskedUp Well 28 teams don’t have a chance to win a championship this year so they should all just already know that and trade away their players.
@BensHoops@andyblarsen What you’re both missing is that you need to have multiple options. Jamal Murray is pretty easy to take out cause he is the only guard creator on that team. Minnesota won’t be able to do that to Fox on SAS cause they have Castle and Harper alongside.
@andyblarsen@sweatypuffins I think the difference is Jazz v Bulls was the pinnacle of the sport. If Liverpool was playing Barca in the champions league and selling Messi jerseys that is absurd. This is 4-5 levels down from that and its hard to argue that RSL is a totally serious club.
