Some of y'all relish in an individual being lost/fucked up/ damaged, that you cannot bring yourself to imagine that they would be able to rise above it and become a decent and better person.
You actually believe you get to be the author of their story, as if they are only able to exist in the lens that you see fit, and that others should participate with you in violating the space they've carved out to be better.
That is what makes you a problem.
To the people.
To the community.
To the world.
Today's Black American (Freedmen) inventor or innovator is Raye Montague. While working for the U.S. Navy, Raye Montague revolutionized the way ships were built by creating the first complete, computer generated ship design in history.
Then President Nixon gave Raye Montague a month to produce the design, she did it in just under 19 hours. She did not just design the ship, but she wrote the computer program that made it possible to show all the ship's interconnected parts. Prior to this, designing a Navy ship took at least two years. She did it in less than a day. This forever changed and streamlined the way the U.S. Navy designed ships. #BlackHistoryMonth
Today's Black American (Freedmen) inventor is Joseph N. Jackson. Joseph N. Jackson invented the world's first programmable TV controller. His controller allowed users to restrict channels from being watched, schedule when the TV could be used, and permit only certain channels. It would later be expanded to control VCRs, DVRs, cable boxes, and even video games.
He laid the foundation for the V-Chip technology that is used to monitor content and restrict channels, typically for children. The cross-capatability of his device preceded later cross-compatible tools such as the universal remote control.
1. It’s Ebonics
2. African languages didn’t influence Ebonics
3. Ebonics has its own syntax, semantics, lexicon, phonology and tonality. None of which are derived from Africa.
Please call the language what the creator coined it so as not to participate in the erasure of Black American culture & people.
It’s Ebonics. Not AAVE
