📖 "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thes 5:16-18

Sometimes it's hard to pray, full stop. But it's even harder, especially when it comes time to pray for someone we don't know well enough. Here are some quick pointers on how to pray for their salvation. Keep in mind that I'm not saying that you have to follow a strict prayer — let the Holy Spirit always guide you — but these are just some quick pointers that you can use:

👉🏼 Pray that God draws them near to Jesus.
“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day." John 6:44

🤍 Pray that God gives them a new heart.
"I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart."
Jer 24:7

❤️‍🔥Pray that God overwhelms them in His love.
"May have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."
Eph 3:18-19

👁️Pray that God opens their eyes and turns them from darkness to light - from Satan to God - so they can receive forgiveness.
"To open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’"
Acts 26:18

🕊️Pray that the Holy Spirit shows you specifically how to talk to each person—mercy vs. mercy and fear.
“Be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; show mercy, mixed with fear” (Jude 1:23)

🔁Pray that God use their circumstances to bring their heart to repentance.
"Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death." 2 Corinthians 7:10

🔥Pray that the Holy Spirit convicts them from sin, righteousness, and judgment of sin.
"And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me." John 16:8-9

In 2014, 24-year-old Shad Thyrion died during rough sex with a woman named Taylor Schabusiness while they were both high on crystal meth. During intercourse, Taylor strangled him to death, cut off his head, and removed his organs. When she was arrested she told police "they would have fun trying to find his organs."

Thyrion's severed head was discovered by his mother, Tara Pakanich, in a bucket in the basement of their family home in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Other severed body parts, including Thyrion's bisected torso in a storage tote, were later discovered by police.

Schabusiness was arrested and charged with murder of the first degree, mutilating a corpse, and third-degree sexual assault. On July 26, 2023, a jury convicted her on all three counts.

Sentencing took place on September 26 with Schabusiness sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
