People are running a bit wild with this, which is probably why Game Freak rarely do these types of interviews.
This isn’t actually news, the Champions producer had previously said the same thing.
IMO turn-based isn’t going anywhere. They tried something new with ZA and there was plenty of negativity around it (Even with PLA too). I think they know that a non-classic mainline game wouldn’t do so well.
Also notice what Iwao says, battle rules MAY GRADUALLY START changing in future games. Champions was made to give them the freedom to experiment a bit more with the classic battle system in mainline games, but I don’t think they will ever change it entirely (successfully).
It’s important to note that this interview is all machine translated.
@misterkboom@hamburgers911 A lot of people’s opinions on fondant are formed by exclusively eating low-quality fondant which is gag-inducing. Good fondant is yummy! Still worse than frosting but very yummy, has a fun texture!
@cokacoap Fair, but to me a big part of it is that it’s just pretty cool to have protagonists that show that life in the pokemon world doesn’t need to peak while you’re still a kid, y’know? And it feels like legends is trying to be “what if Pokemon grew up with its audience a bit” to me
@GardeningAdam I have a lot of faith in these games— from teraleak documentation, there’s a lot of evidence that makes me believe that Gamefreak are passionate developers held back by skill and deadlines. With a 5-year dev cycle, one of those factors will finally be addressed!
all this talk about pokemon larp is so silly cuz the only people truly larping it are scalpers. the casuals who only know pokemon from the one or two games they played are also fans!! that’s not larping thats just liking the game a regular amount lol
@soulsilverart These silver spoon babies!!! Everyone else is out here playing an instrument, these three decide they can just be BUMS!? Not on my watch, no siree, they can either pick up an instrument or I’m leaving them out on the STREET!
I have to agree that Pombon is the cutest in this art
Every pokemon movie is like
Some woman: Welcome to bungo festival in dingus town. The festival celebrates the legendary pokemon smorby.
Ash: smorby?
Smorby appears invisible behind ash and flies away.
@soulsilverart If that’s the internal codename, I’d expect the schedule gets pushed back to align with the internal delays for Winds and Waves, surely?
@Pokedoxxx@CentroLeaks VA pass is usually done late into dev but leakers have said there’s been work done in there, but not currently in. With the work being done, I’d be surprised if it doesn’t end up in the game by release but it’ll probably not start to be fully implemented for a while
@LittleMoonBoy1@soulsilverart If they’re holding off on something like this, my best guess is that it’s tactically positioned to align with some kind of “redemption” story that Pokemon is hoping for with gen 10– eat the bad press while the press is already bad, then turn the narrative around on their terms
@jonny_tompkins Especially with how good the trailer looks, how they have the first-ever 5 year pokemon dev cycle, and the potential that they have more internal support from nintendo after being brought into the Nintendo HQ after SV (iirc)
@jonny_tompkins Ohmori peaked with Sun and Moon— which is no issue since those are my favorite pokemon games. Buuuuuuuut those DLCs were the best parts of both SWSH and SV, and it’s not even close. This genuinely gives me a lot of unbridled optimism for these games
@SydSteyerhart "We must delay the creation of genetic immortality not because death is somehow a moral good, but because it is imperative that the ghouls of the 20th century be forced to face their deaths."
@Simon_Hypixel Placing Diagonal things like the diagonal ropes and chains feels really annoying
It feels like fuel for the furnaces is used up too quick— might just be that I haven’t upgraded yet tho
Enemies in general feel kinda weak, I’d love to see it be harder
That’s about it— great work
