We are a family that travels and pays in bitcoin. We built the app we wanted: your trips, your costs in sats, and nearly 30,000 places that take bitcoin.
Save a place and it is there when you come back. Not in a screenshot, not in a note you will never find again. On the same map you planned the trip on.
We did not build a bitcoin app with travel in it. We built a travel app that happens to speak bitcoin. The difference shows up the moment you use it on a normal holiday.
A month in the book, filled in: accommodation, flights, groceries, the lot. Every line in your own currency and in sats at the same time, so the days you spent something still mean something in five years.
Somebody asked what happens to their data if they stop paying. The book closes, everything they wrote stays, and the map and the trips keep working. Nothing gets deleted because a subscription ran out.
A wallet tells you what you have. An exchange tells you what it is worth. Neither one tells you where you were when you spent it, or what it bought. That gap is the whole app.
Add what you spent, in any currency, and it is stored in sats at that day rate. You never have to remember what bitcoin was worth on a Tuesday in March.
Manchester, a two day trip in September. 489 euros, which was 709,704 sats at the time. Writing it down in sats is what makes it worth looking at again in two years.
The map, your trips, your photos, the search and the guide are free and stay free. What you pay for is the book: your own life in bitcoin, and the assistant that reads it with you.
There is a squirrel in the app who answers bitcoin questions. He will not tell you what to do with your money and he will never ask for your seed phrase. Everything else is fair game.
Every place on our map got there because somebody checked it. A door, a sign, a till that takes it. That is slower than scraping a list, and it is why the list is worth something.
Three nights somewhere, paid in bitcoin, two years ago. You could look up what it cost. You could never look up what those sats are worth now. That is the number the book gives you back.
No app screen today. Just a window seat, the wing, and the clouds. Somewhere down there is the road to the next place that takes bitcoin. Where should we land next?
Eleven days in Dubai 🇦🇪 Burj Khalifa, penguins in the mall, sunsets over the skyline.
This is a trip in Just B Free Globe: your places in order, your photos with them, and 30,000+ spots where you can pay with bitcoin.
Where are you going next? 🌍
Same photo, twice. On the left, what your camera stored with it. On the right, what leaves your phone when you put it in the app. Look at the line that disappeared.
Your camera writes coordinates into every photo it takes. Six decimals is about ten centimetres. We strip that on upload, so the tag never comes along with the picture.
