Yes tariffs raise prices in targeted areas. This creates American jobs. Yes, the newly employed happily absorb a bit of inflation in exchange for unemployment. And I’m happy to pay that kind of tax for a better economy.

Kudos if you support lower corporate taxes. Though broader, those fall on consumers same as Tarrifs (where they apply).

But tariffs create a beneficial response the broader tax doesn’t - American jobs. Ergo Tarrifs are preferable.

I’d rather have targeted inflation with the payoff being American jobs, than broad inflation to pay for government fraud. Maybe just me 🤷‍♂️.
