The Zone with @JustinAcri7, @PhilElsonPxP, & @Moose1037Buzz QOD: Should Michigan's win against Western Michigan be overturned even if there is no NCAA protocol for a protest?
BREAKING: The MAC is asking the NCAA and CFP to recognize Western Michigan as the actual winner in the Michigan game.
MAC now says the replay protocol "was not properly followed" at the end of the game, resulting in another play for Michigan, which won the game on a Hail Mary.

I spent some time watching Lions and Tigers. I have switched at halftime to The Karate Kid. Two thoughts. This soundtrack is something. Does UAPB have a crane kick in the arsenal/playbook?
I Tried to Make Fun of Tarleton State. Then I Looked Them Up.
I had my Tarleton State jokes ready. I really did. Tarleton sounds like a school exclusively populated by guys named Colton who own six fishing poles, have a truck payment larger than their rent and somehow have a girlfriend named Kinsleigh who is already mad at them.
Then I looked up the football team.
Oh.
They're No. 5 in the FCS.
They went 12 and 2 last year, won a share of their conference and made the FCS quarterfinals. Then they opened this season by scoring 49 points on Prairie View A&M.
So apparently Colton can play.
Tarleton put up 505 yards in that game, ran for 231 and converted 70 percent of its third downs. Their running back Tylan Hines had 184 yards and two touchdowns. Seventy percent on third down is especially disturbing. That's not a conversion rate. That's a landlord. At some point you just have to admit these people live on the field now.
There is one statistic that makes me feel substantially better. Tarleton also gave up 519 yards.
Thank you, Jesus.
Because if Bowling Green can't move the football against a defense that just gave up 519, I am going to Doyt after the game, taking off my shirt and walking directly into whatever body of water is closest.
The weird part is Tarleton has already played a real game while BG hasn't. Their guys have already been hit. Their coaches already have real film. BG is still coming out of training camp, where every player apparently gained 17 pounds of muscle, every freshman is "turning heads" and every quarterback battle is somehow "making both guys better."
Nobody has ever had a bad training camp according to football coaches.
This is also a horrible game to lose because look at what comes next.
Nebraska.
Then Iowa State.
You cannot lose to Tarleton State and then get on a plane for Lincoln. That's like finding out your girlfriend is pregnant in the parking lot before your vasectomy. Technically you still have plans for the afternoon, but they suddenly feel significantly less important.
And Tarleton has the perfect situation. They have nothing to lose. BG beats them and everybody says, "Well yeah, they're FCS."
Tarleton wins?
Colton is going back to Stephenville with an FBS win, Freddie Falcon stuffed into the passenger seat of a lifted Silverado and enough confidence to propose to Kinsleigh at a Texas Roadhouse.
BG has to kill that confidence early.
Run the ball. Make Tarleton deal with FBS size and depth. Don't turn it over. Most importantly, do not let this become one of those disgusting FCS games where it's 17 to 17 in the third quarter and a 62 year old man named Dennis is standing six rows behind you screaming "SOMEBODY HIT SOMEBODY" while his wife quietly scrolls Facebook and wonders if she should have married Gary.
I think BG wins.
But I no longer think Tarleton is funny.
Well, the name is still pretty funny.
BG 34, Tarleton 27.
And if a guy named Colton actually scores the winning touchdown for Tarleton, I'm deleting my account.
