@Peri_grine If a game has cool guys and hot women, then it won’t be woke to them no matter how progressive the themes are. See also Final Fantasty VII, Metal Gear Solid, and Baldur’s Gate 3.
@rob_rubsam It’s wild how few people seem to remember that Jon Watts has already worked on a Star Wars project. I’ve seen almost no one bring up Skeleton Crew at all since this news dropped.
@jbillinson I think series revivals, good or bad, should be treated as separate products from the original show. Hence why Twin Peaks: The Return can show up on the list even though the original series came out in the 90s.
@jbillinson Arrested Development was a finished show that told a complete story by the end of Season 3. The Netflix seasons were a cash grab made a decade later. I think it’s ok to ignore them, unlike shows like GoT or Stranger Things where all seasons were part of the same package.
@KatinOxford Agree. It’s a horrendous overlap of nerd culture discourse, religious discourse, and political “wokeness” discourse and will probably only keep getting worse. One of the absolute most radioactive franchises to try anything experimental with like Gerwig is doing.
@DougSaunders I can’t stand Donald Trump but he’s right about this.

Now if only his administration actually decided to do something to help those fleeing persecution rather than massively slashing refugee resettlement.
@TheWinsomeAsh I’m guessing this is a joke but an open world game featuring a shrinking character interacting with a tiny hidden world could be really cool. Like the Minish Cap on steroids.
I thought it was an interesting creative choice for the first Mandalorian episode to begin with the characters speaking in a weird alien language without subtitles until a minute later when I realized Disney+ glitched out on me and had set the language to German.
@NintyPrime I think it’s plausible to view the Zonai version of Rauru as a reincarnation of the original. Just like Zelda, Link, and Ganondorf get reincarnated as a part of the endless struggle against evil, Rauru gets reincarnated as a pivotal figure in each re-founding of Hyrule.
@philvischer Apparently the character is still male, just voiced by Meryl Streep:

I’m actually onboard with a lot of the more controversial choices Gerwig is making for this movie, but I don’t know how this is going to be pulled off without feeling super weird.
@rafaelmalta91 I’ve seen some people suggest the Aslan in this movie as being a pre-incarnate Logos rather than a post-incarnate Jesus of Nazareth parallel so if Aslan appears as a normal lion in later movies I could see that working. Still don’t know about the voice though.
@rafaelmalta91 That’s fair. Part of me likes Aslan’s new design because the mixed animal features evoke Biblical celestial beings. But Jesus appearing ordinary rather than otherworldly despite his divinity is important to who he is, so you could say the same is true for Aslan.
@JosiahHawthorne And like David Bowie who Gerwig’s Aslan is apparently taking inspiration from still had a deep, distinctly masculine voice despite his androgynous persona.
@JosiahHawthorne Are there any examples you can think of where a woman pulls off a non-comedic, non-cartoony adult male voice? I’m not saying it’s impossible but I’m struggling to envision it.
