At Friday night’s varsity game, we had the honor of recognizing Coach Dave Douglas for his incredible 40-year coaching career at JCHS and JCA.

Coach Douglas has been part of 10 of our 15 IHSA Football State Championships (1987, 1990, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2018, and 2021). He began as a lower-level assistant coach in 1985 and joined the varsity staff in 1987 under Head Coach Jim Boyter. From 1989 to 2012, he coached the offensive line for Head Coaches Bob Stone and Dan Sharp, and in 2013, he was elevated to Associate Head Coach under Jake Jaworski.

Coach Douglas’s offensive lines have paved the way for one of the most dominant rushing attacks in IHSA history, including the record-breaking 2007 Hilltoppers, who rushed for 6,609 yards in a single season.

As we celebrate National Coaches Day, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Coach Douglas for his dedication, leadership, and lasting impact on the Hilltopper Football program. #GoHill @HilltoppersFB
