Justin is correct. I was called generalist before and it was used in a disparaging way. But the reality is, I’ve been a beat reporter, insider, sideline reporter on national broadcast, an analyst, even a host.
None of those things happen if I told myself, I could only be one thing. Being well-rounded is a strength. Don’t let stupid people tell you otherwise.
🚨BREAKING: Former NBA Super Star Announces He will Join the WNBA
Enes Freedom played 11 season as a Center in the NBA. He is 6’10’’ which would make him the tallest player in the WNBA. The WNBA recently said they would welcome biological males in their League.
If the WNBA does NOT allow @EnesFreedom to play, America First Policy Institute will legally represent him in court in his fight for fairness and representation.
Let’s see how woke and ‘fair’ the WNBA really is…
Any other person attempting to come back to the NFL after 2.5 years would probably be laughed at. You don't just come back to that sport — especially playing d-line.
But Aaron Donald — presuming he actually does come back — isn't any other person.

new chapter: i'm joining The Atlantic. delighted to be on this team alongside Maddie + deeply grateful for my years at The New York Times Magazine and the extraordinary people there ✨
Something I'm extremely grateful for is being able to cover a bunch of different sports/events and have it considered valuable. This year alone, I've covered the NFL playoffs, the Super Bowl halftime show, the NBA playoffs and Finals, two Jay-Z shows, all angles of the World Cup, and NFL training camp. All for ESPN and ABC. And that's on top of nearly 70 video essays this year alone.
Someone told me last year to take pride in being an “expert generalist.” It has truly changed the energy with which I move.
AD’s already in that “Mean” Joe Greene and Reggie White-level of mythology IMO. But coming back on this Rams team + potentially win another ring — in his home stadium again?
For late night crowd.
On even rarer air for all-time great sports boogeyman.

Throughout my career, @DeMar_DeRozan has long been one of the best PEOPLE I've met along the way. Incredibly introspective, insightful, and lowkey hilarious too.
Stand up dude in every regard.
DeMar DeRozan explains how Gregg Popovich treated basketball as almost the least important part of coaching
“There used to be days… We’d come in there thinking we had practice… But Coach Pop would show us Something going on in a third-world country… With 13-year-old kids being trained… To be killers with AK-47s.”
“He would say, we get to come here… and shoot a basketball… Make millions of dollars… Take care of your kids.”
“He used to do a lot of things… To put stuff in perspective all the time. That’s genuinely who he was… At all times.”
“It was always basketball last. You as a man first. Family, everything else before basketball.”
“He would tell us, this basketball stuff ain’t nothing. F— wins and losses. F— championships. What’s really important is: How are you doing? How’s your family? How are your kids?”
Now seems like the absolute perfect time to re-share my latest story on Aaron Donald.
On what a potential NFL return could do for the already massive mythology surrounding one of the greatest sports boogeymen to ever live.
