Caleb Malhotra says that him and his dad will be “professional” in the event the #Canucks select him with 3rd overall, but admits it would be “pretty special.”
Adds that it was funny when he interviewed with Vancouver this week, then got the call from his Dad asking how it went.
I've known Daren Hermiston for some time. And I can say without a moment's hesitation that the Canucks have brought in an extremely bright, hard-working and talented person.
He was a rising star in the agency game and will bring a lot of important skills from that side of the table.
Tremendous hire.
“He’s got a little Jack Hughes in him.”
One final scout poll before draft day.

A whole lot of disagreement.

Former #Canucks coach Bruce Boudreau on the "Fellowship of the Rink" podcast:
"I think those three guys (Sedins/RJ) are gonna be so much better than to have Jim there and Patrik Allvin, who did whatever Jim wanted anyway so it didn't really matter if Patrik was there or not."
The NHL Alumni Association is heartbroken to learn that John Garrett has passed away at the age of 74.
From Trenton, Ontario, Canada, John’s professional hockey journey began after the St. Louis Blues drafted him in the 1971 NHL amateur draft, joining the Blues’ affiliate club in Kansas City the following season.
John joined the World Hockey Association (WHA) ahead of the 1973-74 season, playing 323 regular-season games in the WHA before his Hartford Whalers joined the NHL in 1979.
On October 11, 1979, John made his NHL debut, with the Whalers taking on the North Stars at the Metropolitan Sports Center. John played parts of three seasons with Hartford before joining the Quebec Nordiques in January 1982, and later played with the Vancouver Canucks over parts of the following three seasons, concluding his NHL playing career.
John began his broadcasting career shortly thereafter, becoming a colour commentator for CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada in 1986. Now 16 years into his broadcasting career, John returned to Vancouver as the primary colour commentator for regional games, and proudly served in the role until the conclusion of the 2022-23 NHL season.
Those who knew John will tell you about his love for the game of hockey, his kindness, and his sense of humour.
We send our deepest condolences to John’s family, friends, and former teammates during this incredibly difficult time.
I am so sorry to hear of Cheech’s passing. I loved being around John, talk hockey, especially goaltending. A zest for life, an infectious smile and personality. You will be missed my friend.
Heaven just added another great character player, but way too soon.
RIP John.
I’m not big on memorabilia and don’t collect things from teams or players. My once exception, a signed picture John Garrett gave me years ago. He cherished family, friends and work. It was his thoughtfulness and sense of humour that made him the best. Rest, Cheech.
Not a day I wouldn’t smile just hearing the name Cheech. Until today. Heartbroken to learn of his passing. So many laughs, great memories and life lessons. John Garrett was one of a kind. We’ll all miss him.
If it’s true that no one is poor who has friends, John Garrett died one of the richest people in the world. @imacSportsnet looks back on the life of a hockey good guy. https://t.co/wLyBFRBYPT
