does rachel realize that by saying troy and ilya have "tension" she literally validates shane's insecurity about them and ilya's "jokes" about sleeping with troy don't seem like "jokes" anymore and now feel insidious
i think the problem is that rachel is still used to her audience not really caring nor liking shane all that much pre-show and has a hard time to grasp that ilya is not only popular character anymore
You know what the crazy part is? That she’s saying this AFTER finishing writing unrivaled. AFTER being on set for S2. AFTER being criticized for her racial bias. Like she dgafffff. She wants to write about Ilya and white men fucking ALL. DAY. That’s it.
it should not be a controversial take in this fandom to say that rr does not write anything for shane if it will not benefit ilya. no coming out scene, no addressing of his race, minimal conflict from being ostracized / losing his C, adding his disordered eating so ilya is pitied
idk i find it funny that shane is apparently the one that objectifies women when you have a whole other character in the gcu that was canonically best friends with a rapist. but whatever lol
Troy never once indicated that he is attracted to ilya in that sense. He finds him attractive sure. But for her to be so fucking fixed on troyxilya when troy himself doesn’t voice that. Ilya was literally tuning Shane with troy multiple times in the tlg… it’s just so icky
Something i always think about…Rachel is punishing Shane because Troy finds him attractive. She is making Ilya so obsessed with the idea of Troy (threesome) because how did Troy ever call Shane attractive and want his number. Even though it was only in his head…i am reaching ik
