@anandmahindra Only @anandmahindra can clear this up: Is ending every vehicle name in "O" an unwritten Mahindra law, or just good luck? Very eager and curious to know :)
@RishabhPant17@pushkardhami Dude has 27 crore or more in the bank and still uses Twitter like a government real estate app. Bypassed brokers, websites, and all protocol in one late night tweet. Pitch selection is wild even off the field.
Not everything needs to be viewed through capital and scale. Benne is making headlines for its funding, but funding isn't what makes a place iconic. Bangalore has had timeless, iconic dosäe spots long before pitch decks.
India needs national iconic dosa brands, biryani brands etc. More power to Benne! Paradise and thalappakatto are slowly trying the biryani thing. Nailing down process and repeatability are key here and I so look forward to these going global too.
I can challenge you that, none of the 21 BJP CMs in India can ever understand this sort of questions.
Karnataka CM @DKShivakumar handled the questions that too without the help of Teleprompter 😅.
Modi should learn from South Indian politicians.
Love the enthusiasm, but let's be real for a second. There is a massive difference between a nice dial maker and a high horlogerie brand, and confusing decorative craft with actual watchmaking misses the structural reality of why an Indian Berneron is fundamentally impossible.
Developing a ground-up, proprietary movement requires tens of millions of dollars in ultra specialized tooling and micro engineering just for the machinery alone, before you even produce a single hairspring or balance wheel. On top of that, we literally have zero horological schools in India. Watchmaking isn't even recognized as a fringe trade here, let alone mainstream education. You cannot build a brand at that tier without a local ecosystem of trained watchmakers who spend years learning hand finishing, anglage, and regulation.
Then there are the brutal economics. True indie micro artistry at that caliber commands $50k USD per piece. The overlap of people with $50k to spend on a watch and those willing to spend it on a domestic indie over a Patek or AP is practically non existent. The market fundamentals simply will never support those unit economics.
At best, India's permanent ceiling is slapping off the shelf movements into custom cases with nice handcrafts and hoping it sells, kind of like your ex boss @nikhilkamathcio investing in Rotoris. That makes for a nice lifestyle business, but comparing a dial project to Berneron isn't just hopeful, it's pure delusion.
For now, I leave you with this video of Aditya Sambhare, a watchmaker from Pune, hear his struggle: https://t.co/9PWPMrZTWo
Have you seen what Sebastian Watch Co. from Jaipur is doing? Their handcrafted silver dials with such specifically Indian motifs and very, very fine Meenakari work make each of these watches an incredible piece of art.
I think what's interesting is that this is at least one watch brand all my watch friends and I are purchasing without really particularly caring about the movement, because the movement of the second hand is nothing special, but it's the statement that the watch makes that is very special to all of us.
I got my hands on my first Sebastian and Co. on preorder. It is on its way. I'm very excited to have my hands on it, and I genuinely think this is what the future of Indian watchmaking is going to look like. We're not going to have insanely big prestige brands, but we're going to have very small, very thoughtful indie watchmakers who are creating beautiful things that speak to small but very deep consumer segments. I don't think the next AP is going to come out of India, but I think the next Berneron might.
Education clearly doesn’t guarantee maturity. Watching grown, educated adults gloat over legal trouble like middle schoolers settling a playground grudge is just embarrassing.
Based on a complaint of sexual harassment and threats filed by a female news reader, Chennai Ice House police had registered a case under 5 sections against P.R. Sundar and his wife.
P.R. Sundar, who had been absconding, has now been arrested by the police in Bengaluru.
This is what real governance looks like - prioritizing pedestrians and city heritage over vote-bank considerations. Tremendous work sir, you have our utmost respect! 🙌
Around 233 shops encroaching on the footpath between the Historic Bengaluru Fort, Victoria Hospital and KR Market were cleared today by the BLR Central Corporation.
Many of these were permanent metal-fabricated structures erected using forged documents purportedly issued by the erstwhile BBMP, completely blocking the view of the Historic Fort and leaving no space for pedestrians in one of Bengaluru’s busiest corridors.
After finding the documents to be bogus, the Hon’ble High Court directed the occupants to vacate within 15 days. Authorities waited 20 days before carrying out the clearance today, marking a major victory for the lakhs of citizens who use every day.

Kohli was sitting on the barricades when a cameraman shouted, "Cheeku, don't retire before the 2027 World Cup." The way he smiled said it all. He ain't going anywhere. 🥹❤️

Virat Kohli is having personal bodyguard for international matches that too for abroad 🙃👀
Why personal bodyguards are allowed at first place when it is a team travel?
Rohit sharma, Shubman Gill and other star cricketers are also travelling alone .
Looks like Virat has received some threats or faced some issue 👀
@comm_blr_south Stray cattle on Kanakpura Road, near Vakil Garden City, have become a real safety hazard. Cows often sit right in the middle of the road crossing, and it's genuinely scary trying to cross with school kids around during busy hours. It's also disrupting traffic flow and putting motorists at risk of accidents.
I reported this through the BBMP app, hoping for some action. Instead, the complaint was closed with a one-line response: "Please refer to Bengaluru South City Corporation."
This is a public safety issue that affects everyone using this road daily, especially children. I'm attaching a screenshot of the response I received.

A quick look at ‘Kaveri’, India’s most powerful fully indigenous 64-qubit superconducting quantum processor, built by Bengaluru-based @qpiai.
Only 7 countries in the world can design and fabricate a quantum processor like this. Today, India and Karnataka stand in that elite company.
Kaveri is the most powerful quantum chip ever built in India, crossing the critical 50-qubit threshold that scientists globally recognize as the point where quantum systems begin to surpass classical computers in specific problem domains.
Kaveri is a testament to what Bengaluru’s innovation ecosystem can deliver for the nation.
Karnataka is also home to India’s first commercially deployed quantum computer installed at IIIT Dharwad and IIIT-Raichur under the @ITBTGoKs LEAP initiative placing the state at the forefront of India’s quantum computing journey.
