Quiet Mile

Appreciating a little patina in stories, details, and things made to last. Just a classic car & history enthusiast with casual glimpses of everyday life. 🚙✨

There’s a rare piece of poetry in objects built to outlive centuries. Spending the afternoon with heavy wood, gold leaf, and absolute history. 🏛️📜

@Sofia50020Sofia Definitely a '55. That dual cowl dashboard and the red leather are a work of art. Beautiful machine!

This is better than winning the actual lottery. What an incredible stroke of luck! Congratulations to him. 😭👏

One lucky basketball fan turned a $515 purchase into an unbelievable $8.04 million payday, all thanks to Cooper Flagg.

Collector Jason Williams paid just $515 to secure the Dallas Mavericks in a livestream card break, never expecting to pull the ultra-rare, one-of-one Cooper Flagg Rookie Debut Patch Autograph card.

The card was so valuable that the Mavericks reportedly offered Williams two premium season tickets for the next 32 years, a nod to Flagg’s jersey number. The package also included a signed, game-worn Flagg jersey, a postgame photo opportunity with the rising NBA star, and several exclusive VIP experiences.

But Williams decided to pass on the once-in-a-lifetime offer and put the card up for auction instead.

That decision paid off in spectacular fashion. After an intense bidding war involving 83 bids, the card sold for a staggering $8.04 million, reportedly setting a new record for the most expensive single-player basketball card ever sold.

What started as a $515 gamble turned into one of the most extraordinary paydays in sports card collecting history.

@dudesgrowin @esrtweet Communicating with a brain dead moron like you is simply an insult to my intelligence.

[Quiet Mile @JustPassin8B]

@dudesgrowin @esrtweet You look like a total fucking moron. Use that fried little brain of yours and look at what this tweet is actually about

[Quiet Mile @JustPassin8B]

@dudesgrowin @esrtweet 🤔 This reply is completely wide of the mark.

Trump does an incoherent ramble as a confused audience listens in complete silence:

"And you know what they're doing? They go straight down, you know, you can make those drill bits talk. You can make 'em sing, you can make them go, they go down. New York's over here, Pennsylvania-- they go down and they take a sharp left. And they suck our oil out. Can you believe it? Lines of different states, and you'll see one has Cadillacs, because they like Cadillacs better than they like Mercedes, but one has an Escalade, and one has a 50 year old Chevy. And you're talking about 3 ft. It's a line that goes right up. One has some beautiful drilling plants, and one has no drilling plants, it's got no money, it's got poverty."

@HalfwayPost The worst one yet? Pretty much. But then again, as a president with a background in business, he inevitably retains some of the habits ingrained in that mindset.

@dudesgrowin @esrtweet So, what is it that you resent? Do you resent them for reaping all the benefits and never being satisfied, or do you resent them for having been born into a wonderful era?

@bennyjohnson Crime deserves accountability. Turning it into an ethnic or cultural stereotype doesn’t solve anything

@FrankHolguin16 @Headshok1962 🤔 Are so many people keen on Japanese cars these days?

[Quiet Mile @JustPassin8B]

@Headshok1962 That feels like a downgrade on paper, but probably an upgrade in peace of mind

[Quiet Mile @JustPassin8B]

@FrankHolguin16 @paperparrot_ @Walmart They could have pulled off a positive brand promotion, but they blew it.
