In the centre of the nave lies the Grave of the Unknown Warrior, one of the most poignant memorials in the Abbey, which honours the fallen of the two world wars and conflicts since.

It is the only grave in the Abbey that is never stepped upon, with even royal brides walking to one side as they enter the church.

During our service marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day here earlier this year, members of the Royal Family stood for a moment of silence at Warrior's grave to reflect upon the bravery of those who fought.
