@actionj46179582 @drich82 Except when the “slow time” comes and the boss says there’s too much to do for you to take time off. Not talking being a farm hand either. I’ve had too many friends in the industry ask why they get PTO when they’re hardly ever allowed to use it.
@drich82 It’s not just outside of the ag industry. My wife and I both work in ag and we both have jobs that allow us to have a great work/life balance. But having come from ag retail and other sales, I really appreciate it
Sure is frustrating when you like the person you do business with but the company they work for has horrible customer service. Really like my @FarmBureau agent but their customer service after a windshield cracked from a deer accident is terrible
@Iowamom7 Funny how contradictive this picture can be. Amish using horses using “less” fossil fuels and seen by the public as more environmentally friendly. Also using a moldboard plow that is seen by the public as very unfriendly to the environment causing carbon loss and nutrient loss
@IowaBankerman @corn_porkNbeans How can we stack multiple outcome payments, like carbon and water quality, to drive a higher payment to the farmer? Carbon is worth less than $10/ac, especially after admin costs.
The Outcomes Fund uses leading models and approaches to quantify carbon sequestration and water outcomes and provides technical assistance to aid growers on their journey to increase profitability through sustainability.

@KccMitch That I tested positive for covid but anyone I talk to on the phone or via virtual meeting wouldn’t know it unless I told them. My wife’s symptoms are worse than mine but she still said she’d think it was a bad cold
One of our 2020 growers planting soybeans into standing rye. This grower saw improved weed control over other fields he did not plant into standing rye. Add that to the outcomes payment, and it was win-win in this situation. #notill#covercrops#carbonsequestration
