I’ll always think the 2011 Red Sox are the modern collapse standard.
Not just because they blew the lead, but because it felt like the entire team was unraveling in public every single night. Bad pitching, weird clubhouse stuff, brutal timing, and then Game 162 somehow made it even worse.
The 1964 Phillies might be the historical answer, though.
What’s the worst September collapse ever?
Again- the fact that @DonOrsillo is not in the NESN booth, and didn’t get to be with Jerry Remy til the end is the largest travesty ever conducted by John Henry (Mookie trade included)
Happy “Flying Pizza” Day if you’re observing it…
19 years ago today. April 16, 2007, Marathon Day, a fan at Fenway Park chucked a slice of 🍕 at another fan.
It was a custom job.
The Red Sox blew all their ABS challenges early against the always horrible CB Bucknor and now he’s running amok like Jason Voorhees. I like ABS it’s a brand-new way to get aggravated during a baseball game.
