You would think the way some people are responding to @RobertKennedyJr’s appointment, the United States would be one of the healthiest countries.

Life Expectancy: The U.S. ranks lower than many other high-income countries, with an average life expectancy of around 76 years (as of recent data). Countries like Japan, Switzerland, and Australia have significantly higher life expectancies, often over 80 years.

Infant and Maternal Mortality: The U.S. has one of the highest maternal and infant mortality rates among developed nations.

Chronic Disease Rates: The U.S. has high rates of chronic diseases, including obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.

Mental Health: The U.S. has comparatively high rates of mental health issues, including anxiety and depression, though it has a relatively robust mental healthcare system compared to some countries.

Global Health Rankings: A 2021 report by the Commonwealth Fund ranked the U.S. healthcare system last among 11 high-income countries. In the WHO’s last comprehensive health system ranking in 2000, the U.S. ranked 37th.

Considering what we’ve been doing isn’t working, maybe we need to try something different. Let’s give him a chance.
