@PhDVoice@PostdocVoice It doesn’t add much value for you to stay longer than you should although there will be invisible and visible forces that will encourage you to stay on because the more advanced you become the more valuable you are to your advisor. Get your degree and bounce!

@NandiniRavita@PhDVoice@AcademicChatter You could look into adjunct positions, which is what I did to gain teaching experience while I was a PhD student. Local schools (city, state and community colleges post adjunct roles often so that could be a good way to pick up some exp!)
