The Congress government is displaying authoritarian behavior by refusing to postpone the PSI recruitment exam, despite clear scheduling clashes with major national exams like the UPSC Civil Services Mains and SSC CGL Tier 1 on Sept 22. Home Minister G Parameshwara's claim that the PSI exam was fixed before the UPSC schedule is blatantly false.

The UPSC exam calendar was released on May 10, 2023, well in advance. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) initially scheduled the PSI exam for May 8, 2024, on March 5, 2024, only to postpone it on March 21, 2024, with the final date being set on March 24, 2024. Further, in response to a starred question (No. 328/400) on July 18, 2024, the government admitted that exam dates are fixed after careful consideration of national exams like UPSC, SSC, and NTA, and that adjustments are possible in case of clashes.

Despite these facts, the Congress government is adamantly pushing ahead with the exam, disregarding the aspirations of thousands of candidates. It’s time the government put its ego aside and postponed the exam for the benefit of our bright future leaders. I request the CM and the Home Minister to kindly reconsider this decision and act in the interest of the aspirants.
