I've been on social media for a very long time, usually as a reader. Every time a hashtags goes trending, if you check the hashtag, you will see bot or ad account picking up the tag, to ride the wave and sell product or insert a message.

It has always been like this, so i wouldn't blame it on anyone, it was just how social media works. It is also unfair for anyone to blame a hash that has been around for 3 months. Any OSINTER of a big company would have found #PPGruinesCNgames and reported it and more likely it wasn't deemed a risk, as the screen went up. A new tag with anti china sentiment, not anti company sentiment, that popped up during the screen, is far more likely to have caused a reassessment of risk.

Почему мы вообще принимаем это как установленный факт?

PaperGames уже не впервые оказывается внутри очень тяжёлых политических и национальных конфликтов.

В 2019 году вокруг Shining Nikki возник скандал на фоне протестов в Гонконге и закона о запрете масок: в игре изменили аксессуар-маску так, что он перестал закрывать лицо, после чего игроки начали использовать политические лозунги, а часть таких формулировок стала фильтроваться. Это была совершенно настоящая политическая история вокруг игры.

В 2020 году Shining Nikki оказался в огромном китайско-корейском конфликте вокруг ханбока. PaperGames выпустила заявление о «национальном достоинстве», а затем вообще закрыла корейский сервер спустя примерно неделю после запуска. Это был не маленький фандомный спор, а международный культурный конфликт, который дошёл до полного ухода игры с рынка.

В 2021 году PaperGames разорвала сотрудничество с английским актёром озвучки Mr Love: Queen’s Choice после его публичного заявления «Taiwan is a country». Ещё два актёра после этого ушли в знак солидарности. Это был прямой международный политический скандал вокруг Тайваня.

И совсем недавно уже LADS оказался в скандале вокруг A-0731: компания публично отвечала, меняла контент и признавала проблему с чувствительностью команды к исторически болезненной теме.

И что?

PaperGames не исчезла. Китайский геймдев не исчез. Мир не рухнул.

Поэтому когда мне сейчас говорят, что злые женщины с хэштегами внезапно нанесут катастрофический ущерб всей игровой индустрии, я хочу спросить: с чего вообще такой вывод?

Это не установленный факт. Это страх. Это предположение о том, что может произойти.

Да, есть действительно хуёвые конкретные примеры. Тег Al для меня полный пиздец, и я его защищать не собираюсь. Если конкретный пост или конкретный тег действительно превращает историю Валко в политический реквизит, давайте критиковать именно его.

Но #PaperGamesRuinsCNGaming сам по себе не означает нападки на страну. Это обвинение конкретной компании в том, что её решения подрывают доверие части игроков к китайским играм. Можно считать этот тезис преувеличенным. Можно считать тег плохой стратегией. Но делать из всех его пользователей неосознанных, манипулируемых людей, которые якобы не понимают, что делают, я не согласна.

И самое главное: мы не можем сами модерировать тысячи взрослых людей и удерживать этот конфликт голыми руками.

Напряжение уже существует. Люди злятся. И чем дольше Infold молчит, тем сильнее эта злость будет искать новые выходы. Некоторые будут разумными. Некоторые спорными. Некоторые откровенно ебанутыми.

Но кризис-менеджмент PaperGames не является работой игроков.

Если компания позволила температуре подняться до такой степени, что ситуация начала расползаться во все стороны, основная ответственность за управление этим кризисом всё ещё лежит на компании. Отдельные люди отвечают за свои слова и свои действия. Но мы не обязаны коллективно спасать PaperGames от последствий её собственной коммуникационной политики.

Бойкот не обязан быть удобным.

Если кто-то считает, что единственный эффективный инструмент это падение доходов, пожалуйста, действуйте так. Если кто-то хочет позитивные теги, пушьте позитивные теги. Если конкретный человек написал опасную или ебанутую хуйню, разбирайте конкретного человека.

Но хватит превращать весь бойкот в систему надзора, где взрослые женщины должны получать разрешение на то, насколько им можно злиться и какими словами им можно критиковать компанию.

That, and it shows how little knowledge and logic there is in their thinking. Why would you report people who share your goal to the company you want to boycott. Same with the faction split push. And the messages to get antis to bully the so called radicals. I’m like, wth are you all doing? Logging in and spending, are they sure they want Valko back? I’m baffled by their stupidity.

I’m sorry but this is silly, the PPG tag has been active for months and it never canceled a screen. The only tag that actually got trending, in America by Americans just before it got canceled is that Al one. It trended, they saw it and it took some hours to talk about it and deciding to cancel. It’s not trend and cancel in seconds. The PPG tag was trending before the screen went up as well. I’ve seen it organically since the multi card.

I fully anticipated this, sex sells, so now they either go back to normal cards, see revenue drop again, or continuously pomp out sex banners, making it a Deuce Bigalow game. At any rate, the normal and main story will die, eventually the sex card will even bore the horniest, then they prob go EoS, having milked their boys to the fullest.

Atm, its just point and laugh really. dragging competitors, ccp, some already begged anti's to take them back apparently. When all we wanted was to say #fuckPPG, you make china look bad with your communication with global.

We should just focus on inflop, trying getting Valko back, or warn anyone considering investing time and money into a company that doesn't care for their patronage. Inflop is the baddie, everything that is theirs is fair game, I have every right as a former consumer to be mad and leave my opinions. Would have been better if they just left us alone with our hashtag instead of starting a war and meet where we agreed. But alas.

They have completely lost the plot, I could get some cores for whatever outfit I want in WWM (a Chinese bloody game, with free main story and gameplay, that was so good this update, I almost cried fyi.)

And for the West, I have a steam page full of 40 hours games minimum that only asked to pay 30/40 $, if on sale make it 20 $ or 5!!!, A FULL GAME!!! A COMPLETED STORY!! Done, beginning and end.

I agree, moderations has muffled us like they muffled Valko, and nobody including me was talking about threats or cowdung, it was just a hashtag, but it was all bad, and all based on nothing, there was no logic to it and I hated it. The tone policing, the lets be nice when PPG showed just how much they hated us all. Same for the competition thing, the radical vs moderate, it was all bullshit, all made fat by dubious accounts and spun by some with to much reach.
