And the second you step off their script? "Now they feel like they gotta fight for us even more to try to get us back on the Democratic plantation."

Then he flips it. A conservative, "or a patriot, whatever you wanna call them," is "not gonna fight for us. But they will fight beside us." Why? "They see us as a neighbor. They see us as a human being. They see us as Americans."

I've been saying it for years: be very careful with anyone who tells you they "fight for you." Most of the time they want your vote, your donation, and your obedience. The people worth trusting stand next to you and respect that you can think for yourself.
