Erika Kirk is moving closer to a wrongful death lawsuit over the security decisions surrounding her husband's assassination, saying the TPUSA team raised concerns before Charlie ever took the stage.

The slain conservative leader's family has filed a notice of claim against Utah Valley University, the state of Utah, and key officials, alleging security failures led to the Turning Point USA founder’s death.

According to the filing, organizers warned UVU about rooftop access near Kirk’s outdoor speaking event after students raised concerns. Kirk’s team asked campus police to secure the access or allow their own security team to cover it.

UVU Police Chief Jeffrey Long’s response, according to the filing: “I got you covered.”
