I started my day with the Murph workout at CrossFit to honor a fallen soldier named Michael Murphy. Once I recovered I thought I would send a message to my American connections that have served in the military and continue to serve in healthcare. I wish you a great day with Family.
I work with organizations around Clinical Leadership Search. Supporting clinicians to lead and clinical leaders already leading is paramount. Here are my thoughts on it and how I integrate it into recruitment.

Hospital boards have more influence on executive success than many realize. This is why we work with them on recruiting, onboarding and ongoing support.
Research shows executives are more likely to succeed when boards do the right things early: set clear expectations, build trust, provide meaningful feedback, support onboarding, and plan for succession.
Strong boards do not micromanage.
They create clarity, alignment, accountability, and stability.
If hospitals want stronger leadership, better retention, and better performance, board support cannot be passive. It has to be intentional.
