@letsquitteachin When your pyramid is upside ⬇️ you are pretty much just doing this. Just when your awesome intervention is making a difference, there are just as many Ss lined back up for the groups. If T1 isn't in place, you will bog down the system. Won't matter how good the interventions are
@JoAnneGross1 OG has kids look at it by syllable. Blends are together to get them unitized (Kilpatrick).
However, I would note, it does depends on what you are working on with the students!
There's more to the Science of Reading than foundational skills! Take 60 seconds to read this statement from a group of outstanding scientists (and me) about the importance of background knowledge to reading comprehension, equity, and motivation. https://t.co/tL29ijowNq
Teachers can only look out for signs of dyslexia if they know what they are!
Retweet if you think all educators should be trained in dyslexia and the science of reading!
@AshleyHalkum@GoldEDULLC@GoogleForEdu That would be awesome! I'm having to screenshot it in for workbooks we are creating in slides😩🤪 Then having to resize screenshots each time so the lines are a good size...ugh...It would save me so much time! I've even tried a font, then add in my own lines🤣 but font was wrong.
@EduCelebrity@ns_kkc It is easy to think a couple conversations here and there will "fix" it. We are all in a continuum on mindset within different area. And so many things impact it. It is an incredible tool, but there is a LOT more to it. Good luck and please continue your journey of learning!
@EduCelebrity@ns_kkc Wow, and you are talking about having toxic positivity? I LOVE growth mindset, bring researching it for YEARS. It is way deeper than 8 things on a check list. It is an belief within ones self, it is something you constantly have to work on. This is why it gets a bad rap at times
“Babies born during the pandemic, the study found, are vocalizing less and experiencing fewer conversational turns.
It seems likely that a combination of stressed caregivers and social isolation is to blame.”

@bethhill2829 To be honest, some not willing to try & have fidelity w/ it. Then blame the new system when it doesn't work. 🤦🏼♀️. You can't cook food in an oven but leave the door cracked & say this oven doesn't work. As teachers we need to get better about trying things the way they are designed
@teachergoals@Recite_com And kids that need support in word recognition. $ kids that need support in language comp. & some kids who need help in both! I used to love this quote, but learning about the science of reading, I feel there is a lot that is missing for S even before this quote comes into play
