Roughly a third of people who financed their vehicles owe more than the vehicles are worth, which can be consequential once they get rid of the car https://t.co/Vf0GjZJutC
@KamalaHarris@vp@fema Why are unmarked helicopters rotor washing volunteer supply centers in Western NC? No trained pilot (without ill-intent) would circle a group of volunteers and supplies and still fly directly overhead.
@Newsweek By the way, I'm in no way opposed to spreading humanitarian aid across the globe. America should be the leader in fighting for civilian care in times of war. But before we take care of others, we need to be damn sure our own are already taken care of.
@Newsweek claimed people criticizing this tweet are "MAGA and Republican figures". From someone who considered myself a Democrat until about 2 years ago when I shifted quite a bit more moderate, if this doesn't infuriate you, it has nothing to do with a party. You're just trash.
The people of Lebanon are facing an increasingly dire humanitarian situation. I am concerned about the security and well-being of civilians suffering in Lebanon and will continue working to help meet the needs of all civilians there.
To that end, the United States will provide nearly $157 million in additional assistance to the people of Lebanon for essential needs such as food, shelter, water, protection, and sanitation to help those who have been displaced by the recent conflict. This additional support brings total U.S. assistance to Lebanon over the last year to over $385 million.
@Satyrnine@PamKeithFL Apologies for coming off confrontational, I had just checked my notifications, had a few seemingly condescending responses and took it out in a response to you even though I now see we're in agreeance. I needed to add more context of applying for DUA in NC through unemployment.
@PamKeithFL And for the record, individual state disaster relief programs (including the Disaster Unemployment Assistance program) are funded by the federal government even though you have to apply through the regular unemployment system in the state of NC.
@PamKeithFL Okay, the context missing for everyone responding so far is that NC's disaster relief program is funneled through their unemployment system. So "unemploynent denied me" = I applied for disaster relief through unemployment, and was told to apply in ID where there wasn't a disaster
@Satyrnine@PamKeithFL Okay, great 👍 thanks for the wealth of knowledge. The point was that people are struggling out here and can't get any help with our current leadership, while others are trying to compare to the past. Obviously it's not a political party thing as both have mishandled disasters.
Citizen just LIT UP columnist Paul Krugman at CUNY over Helene victims, billions to Ukraine, and the Economy
“We’re getting evicted and you’re making millions!”
@99PowerStrokin@vileTexan They didn't just deny me, they sent me 3 separate emails telling me they denied me, texted me telling me they denied me, and told me the only way to appeal was send in a notarized letter.
Just spoke to a friend of mine in law enforcement in NC...he said that they have, and I quote: "Already used over 500 body bags, and there are bodies in trees, mud, cars, houses, everywhere...No Fed support whatsoever."
