And it's not even just the the normal live service stuff either, MS yanked Fable III from people's accounts instead of removing Windows Live's authentication and keeping it functional.

I realized this early when they locked down benign articles as Atlantis and stopped supporting them.

Which should tell you that security and keeping their game clean from cheating is not at all what they actually care about.
