Houses on stilts also allow cross ventilation which helps cool them naturally. The airflow’s so good. Our ancestors were incredible architects of their time, some houses didnt even need nails, they used interlocking wooden joints like mortise and tenon to assemble the entire structure which made it easy to relocate if they ever needed to be moved. Large and ample windows on all sides, elevated floors, high ceilings, open layouts, you dont feel stuffy inside even tho there’s no a/c. They really took the humid, tropical climate into consideration. It’s smth so unique about traditional houses in SEA that should be adapted more in modern design.
