Game 4:
In an exciting, down-to-the-wire game, East Kentwood & Cadillac stayed within 2 possessions throughout the entire 1st half, with a 25-19 EK lead being the biggest margin. EK scored the 1st 6 points of the 2nd half to go up 35-25, but Cadillac responded with a 10-2 run to cut it to 37-35. EK got the lead back up to 9 at 50-41 & 52-43 late in the 4th qtr, but again Cadillac made a push, scoring 7 straight, including a 3 by Kaleigh Swiger that made it 52-50 with a little over 0:30 left.

After an EK turnover, Makya Buggs stole the inbounds pass & was eventually sent to the FT line where she split the pair to extend EK's advantage to 3. On the other end, Swiger was given a lane & missed a long runner, but Sanna Jalovaara cleaned up the weak side boards, finished through contact, & hit the FT to tie it back up at 53 with about 0:11 remaining. An EK 15-foot fade away missed its mark & the game went to OT.

In OT, Jazanaye Silva & Ari'es Branch combined for 10 of East Kentwood's 11 points, while Swiger scored all 6 of Cadillac's to keep them within striking distance until the very end. Silva had 2 big offensive rebounds & putbacks, the first to break a 55-all tie, which put EK ahead for good & the last off a missed FT with 0:07 left that made it a 2-possession game & sealed a 64-59 win.

Soph Jazanaye Silva (pictured-r) led East Kentwood with 18 points & 8 rebounds, while soph Ari'es Branch added 13 points & 8 rebounds & soph Sophie Cobb tallied an additional 13 points. EK started 5 sophomores today.

Sr Cornerstone University commit Kaleigh Swiger of Cadillac led all scorers with 22 points, hitting big shots down the stretch & 9-for-10 on FTs in the 2nd half & OT. 5'11" sr Sanna Jalovaara (pictured-l) was a beast on the boards & a tough matchup for EK's forwards inside as she recorded a 19-&-15 double-double before fouling out early in OT. Jalovaara is a foreign exchange student from Finland, who has not played basketball in 5 years, but is on Finland's Ultimate Frisbee national team. Fr Gabi Schepers came off the bench to add 13.
