Both of them carry the weight of being the last of their noble houses. — Leia (esp in canon novels like bloodline) lives with the absolute terror and political stigma of the whole galaxy finding out she’s darth Vader’s biological daughter.

Daenerys uses Dothraki braids to visually log her military victory, adding a silver bell or a new braid for each victory. She’s rocking painted leathers. — In Qarth she’s stuck in that qarthian toga that leaves one whole breast out just to blend w high society. When ruling in Meereen, she forces herself into the traditional, uncomfortable Ghiscari tokar.

In leia princess of alderaan it shows how teen leia starts rocking the iconic twin side buns on purpose. At first she hated them cuz she saw it as some stuck-up aristocratic etiquette forced on her; In the star wars novels when Leia’s a senator for the new republic she rocks those traditional alderaanian braids and formal gowns as literal political armor. Goes from the pristine white senatorial silk dresses straight into camo gear, leather military boots and rebel alliance tactical uniforms. Just like Daenerys she gets forced into outfits that scream submission or exoticism — like the slave fit at jabba’s palace.

Home vs Obligation: “She would rather have drifted in the fragrant pool all day, eating iced fruit off silver trays and dreaming of a house with a red door,” / “Dany had never known a home. In Braavos, there had been a house with a red door, but that was all.”

Padmè: Sabé turned to face her enemies as the queen of naboo and padmé basically vanished under her shadow. / All her memories about Naboo.

Lyanna’s always been the perfect horse-girl of her era in the narrative and somehow dany (with no apparent help) ends up just as skilled on horses and even riding dragons bareback.

In the books (like the recent canon novel the princess and the scoundrel or legends classics like the courtship of princess Leia) Leia’s braided and pulled-back hairstyles get described as extensions of her political heritage from Alderaan. Same as her mom Padmé Amidala those elaborate braids and buns with gold and silver ribbons basically act as diplomatic armor and a symbol of solemnity in front of the senate and the troops.

First off in asoiaf lore (especially in twoiaf app/the mad king play), music and prophecy are inextricably tied to Lyanna’s fate. At the Tourney at Harrenhal, Prince Rhaegar Targaryen played a song on his silver harp that was so beautiful it made the “wild wolf” Lyanna weep. —— Like Padmè, Lyanna was swept up in a power (prophecy) much larger than herself, resulting in the birth of a pivotal savior figure (Anakin Skywalker) and Daenerys.

All the Stark family wear wolf’s-tooth necklaces and they were literally howling —— adwd: “Off in the distance, a wolf howled. The sound made her feel sad and lonely, but no less hungry. As the moon rose above the grasslands, Dany slipped at last into a restless sleep.”
